Should I Persevere or Give Up on My Business?

21st June 2023The GROW Model concept is a really helpful mindset when working with people (eg team members and clients) to both avoid and resolve conflict.
Using the GROW model helps us to work through a process to ensure the best outcome for all involved, with a clear plan of action established at the end.
G – Goals
At this stage, it is important to establish goals/learning outcome. What’s the purpose of the meeting? A good question to ask at this point is “Tell me about the problem, what will the situation be like when the problem is resolved?”
R – Reality
What are the current challenges? What’s the situation like right now? What are their roadblocks?
This stage provides us with the opportunity to understand and communicate what our own challenges are, how the reality is. This encourages open and honest communication to work together, and help understand that it is a joint issue to solve together
O – Options
What actions are needed? If there were no barriers, what would the situation look like? This stage is really about brainstorming options – go wild!
W – Way forward
Once the brainstorming has happened, what is required to move forwards? Which are the options that you will utilise to progress?
It is important at this stage to determine what the specific actions are, who is going to be responsible for them and when are they to be completed by?
Once you have reached the end of the GROW Model, go back and double check that the points from ‘W’ will meet the issues raised in the ‘G’ section. This is an opportunity to agree that everything has been addressed.
