Can I claim an eye test and glasses through the business?

Yes and no.
You can pay for an eye test through your business if you believe that it will enable you to carry out your work duties better.
You cannot claim for glasses or contact lenses through the business unless they are wholly and exclusively for business use, because they will have a dual purpose (of being both for personal and business use). This is unlikely to be accepted by HMRC unless they are for health and safety (ie you may need special glasses if you are making something, that you wouldn’t wear in ordinary life), or where you have a pair of glasses for home, and a pair for work.
